Registered Catahoula Leopard Dogs
National Association of Louisiana Catahoulas - NALC

                                                              Notice    Notice    Notice
We do do not breed for color!  We cross a merle to a solid.  Crossing two merles can produce puppies with lots of white areas on their body.  These colored pups are highly likely to have genetic flaws such as deafness, vision problems, and anomalies of sexual organs, skeleton and heart.

Therefore, our litters will contain some healthy, solid black colored puppies. Most of these 'solid' pups will have tan or brindle points and may have white tips on toes and white on their chest. These puppies will have the same wonderful attributes as the colorful ones.

Reserving a puppy:

In order to be placed on our reserved list we require a $100 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit. This is a result of individuals requesting to be placed on the list and then cancel or do no respond when it is their turn to pick a puppy. Deposit will be applied to purchase price.

Please mail deposits to the address on the contact page.  When deposit is received, you will receive an email receipt.

Due to genetics, we cannot predict which coat or eye color will result from any breeding. Because there are so many variations with the Catahoula breed, your ideal color choice may not be available in the current litter.

We don't reserve a specific puppy for you, we reserve a place 'in line' for you to choose.  When it is your turn to pick a pup (you will be notified by email), THAT pup will be reserved for you.

We reserve the right of first choice on all litters.

Puppy Pricing
                                 $600

Vaccinations

Puppies will be current on shots, wormed and socialized.
Note:  We will provide the first vaccination around 6-7 weeks.  If you have not picked up your puppy by the time the next vaccination is due (8-9 weeks), you will be charged for the second one.

You hear stories about dogs being heroes.  Some are hard to believe. But, when it happens to you, you become a believer.  Here is the truth about our hero dog, Huck.

By the fall of 2016 Huck was well past the puppy stage and pretty much a fixture around the place.  Great dog, my best friend.

That summer I had bought a roan gelding 'against my better judgement.'   But he really hooked on to me and I wanted to make a difference for him.

It was the Tuesday after Pendleton Round-Up. That afternoon I told my boss that I had a bronc waiting for me at the house.  He laughed and told me, "You're getting a little old for them bad ones."  I just laughed it off.

When he bucked me down I never saw it coming.  Total ambush.  He's riding quiet, then I'm trying to make a bronc ride.

Now he's really trying to buck me off.

It chilled me when my head hit that hard, round pen ground.  I knew I'd hung a spur in a coil and I felt my right knee go.

Time stood still.

Looking up, I saw those four shiny new shoes I had just nailed on him the day before.
I felt bones break when he landed in the middle of my back.  I knew I was injured.  Not hurt, injured.  There's a difference.

Roany continues to buck around the round pen.

Damn!  This is fixin' to get bad if he comes over me again.

A blue flash hits that horse in the side of the head.  Dang near knocked Roany down.

                                     HUCK TO THE RESCUE!
(Our dogs are not allowed in the round pen when we are working a horse).

He kept that horse off me.  Growling deep down, while laying on my legs. Never took his eyes off Roany.

When I got a little air back I said, "Bud, you gotta help me up."  I'll always remember the concern in those big brown eyes.

Still can't get my head around a 200 pound man 'riding' an 80 pound dog that far.  I will forever feel his power and strength under me as we made our way to the house and help.

It took months to heal.  Painful, life changing months.

Thank God he was there.  No amount of time will erase that day or the way I feel about that old, blue dog.  We're both getting closer to the the end than the beginning, but I will always be grateful and never take for granted the love of that dog.

                                               Thanks Huck !

I wanted to share some updates of our Ally girl with you. She was a pup out of Huck and Tally. She's been a truly amazing pup and has so much potential. Brian has taken her on two adventures in the mountains so far and she never skipped a step.                                                            Kylie

A year ago on this day my best buddy was born. I wanted to update you on his progress!

His name is Jax (Bug's and Jingo's son), he is 1 now and has grown quite rapidly (83 pounds). He is a smart and beautiful (and sometimes stubborn) young dog :)

I feel very blessed to have him in my life; I can't say enough good things about him.  He is my best buddy, he always goes everywhere he can with me. I really couldn't have asked for a better dog.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to have such a great dog!  Your genuine willingness to help me pick the perfect companion really touched me, I am forever grateful.

Thanks again so much for your time and patience.                                                                                                       Julia

Boujee
"I wanted to say thank you for being excellent breeders. I named my little girl Boujee and she is SOOO smart and has learned to behave quickly. Her spots and speckles are growing as she does, she loves helping my family and I around our farm (she even rides on the backhoe and tractor with us!), she is a strong and stocky girl with amazing instincts to protect, and she loves to run and play with my parent's Scottish terrier. I would recommend a Catahoula to anyone and will always send them your way before any other place! Once again thank you for what you do and for adding a member to our family. Hope all is well and God bless you and your ranch."                        Chloe

"I just wanted to let you know that the pup is doing amazing!! I have never seen anything like her before. She is the most intense, determined, and smartest pup I have ever owned!!! She knows two commands and has never had an accident in the house. She is already completely determined to be right next to me constantly she even runs her stubby little legs off helping me feed. She is exactly what I had in mind. Thank you so much."                                                      Ashley

"Hey guys!

Was just wanting to update you on how Odin is doing... He is the best thing I have ever invested in. I wanted to thank you again for making the extra effort to make sure I could have him. His personality is exactly what I was hoping for from that pairing.

He’s been working in my steer and dairy barns with me. It’s taken him a while to get used to them but I’m optimistic he will be more confident as he ages. At 5.5 months, I’m really seeing those protective instincts for me start to come out like you mentioned your’s do when someone isn’t expected. Odin does the same.

Thank you so much for being such a fantastic breeder. Will hope to get another from you in the next couple years. You two are amazing and I can’t speak highly enough of your character."                                                          Jolie

Leroy
Hi! This is Leroy,  he is one of the pups Jingo sired. Leroy is 5 months old and weighs 50lbs.  All I know is that Leroy is by far one of the most beautiful pups I've seen, his coat is like silk and as far as a furry companion goes.... I've never had a smarter dog. He is funny, he gives me hugs when I'm sad, he catches on to training in a day and hes onky 5 months! Thank you for Jingo and thank you for Leroy.                                                                                      Kimberly

I just wanted to send you a picture of our 3 from this last weekend.
You breed the best dogs!! These three are like best friends, even though Saul lives 3 hours away with my dad.
We are so glad to have discovered your Catahoulas!
